All of our menus reflect both the diversity of our influences (American South, Italy, & New Orleans to name a few) as well as our support of many local farms.
Our bar program features signature cocktails, 8 draft beers, bottled beer selections, and full wine list. We have a fun list of spirited beverages for lunch/brunch as well. Stop by after work for a drink on our patio or join us for drinks later into the evening on the weekends.
Our dining room offers a cozy and unique environment that speaks to our love of modern-retro design. We were honored to partner with Form & Function Architecture and Design to bring our dreams to reality in creating a space that is both warm and entirely fresh.

Biltmore Estate in Asheville, N.C.
George Vanderbilt’s 250-room castle is America’s Largest Home and a top attraction in Asheville. Plan a visit to Biltmore House, explore 8,000 acres of grounds, or book a behind-the-scenes tour.
Elegance and grandeur abound at Biltmore, America’s largest home. This French Renaissance castle in the heart of Asheville and the Blue Ridge Mountains is an architectural jewel. The home features 250 rooms, including 35 bedrooms, 43 bathrooms and 65 fireplaces.
In addition to the house, the 8,000-acre estate is home to forested trails and beautiful gardens, which include one of the country’s most complete collections of azaleas. Biltmore is also where you’ll find the nation’s most-visited winery. As you explore the estate, enjoy shopping, dining and luxury accommodations.
Biltmore is as magnificent today as it was when it was built more than a century ago. George W. Vanderbilt created the estate in the 1890’s as a grand retreat in the North Carolina mountains. The estate officially opened to his friends and family on Christmas Eve 1895. Mr. Vanderbilt brought in Frederick Law Olmsted, the father of American landscape architecture, to design the gardens and trails. Biltmore was the last great project for Olmsted, whose work also includes New York’s Central Park and the grounds of the U.S. Capitol. The Estate is still privately owned and operated by George Vanderbilt’s descendants

When we want the rewards of fishing to more challenging fish, we travel toward Tennessee and the tri-cities area of Johnson City, Elizabethton and Kingsport where we fish the TVA controlled tail-water streams of the South Holston River or the Watauga River. The releases of water below TVA dams on these rivers provides for constant year-round stream temperatures, predictable hatches for us to match, and excellent opportunities for float-fishing that rival the legendary fly fishing rivers of Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho and the Rocky Mountains.

In fact, he still calls on his mother for the secrets of traditional Mexican dishes, which he reinvents in innovative and surprising ways. At Limones, Hugo’s love of Mexican food is combined with his training in french-influenced California cuisine.

The Admiral embarked not with a set course, but steered more in a general direction. In 2007, we aspired to create an unexpected restaurant that thrived on its talent and creativity.
With the procurement of a modest cinderblock building on the wage earning side of town we succeeded in our goal – to serve an inventive cuisine without having to hold on to convention, all in an atmosphere that lacks the restraints of standard technique.
We hope you find our décor timeless, our service gentle, and our cuisine inventive and delicious.

Anchor Fly currently consists of two passionate fly fishing anglers with desires to
- Spend as much time as they can fly fishing
- Share what they learn with others
Our team believes that fly fishing can literally make us better people. In a nutshell—by spending more time in nature and connecting with our surroundings we develop peace and patience in daily life. This is a very cool thing AND is very worthy of some gratitude.
We wish to share our deep respect for the environments we fish in, and the fish that we catch. If we can help develop an increase in respect for even one angler that would mean a great deal.
Because of this, sharing information and research on the culture, philosophy and environmental impact is very important to publish on Anchor Fly.

Our clients have returned over the decades, we hope in part because we have always tried to treat them as family… and friends. Some might say, our food tastes good, perhaps even memorable. The Market Place has been a fixture in downtown Asheville since 1979. Though it’s beginnings rose in the streams and mountains of western North Carolina – a place of mountain trout and small farms – it also has a hand and heart inspired by traditions far from our borders. This mélange of local food prepared with other worldly traditions of the table may have helped the Market Place garner national attention but the keen reverence for the heritage and roots of Appalachia has always remained at the center of what we do.
