Altamont Anglers fly fishing guides have been guiding and teaching anglers since 1986. Our knowledge of the waters around our home of Asheville, NC lets us customize fly fishing trips to your special needs & desires. Asheville fly fishing offers the daytime experience of pristine trout streams set in beautiful Smoky Mountain settings and the evening experience of a vibrant downtown that offers fine dining, entertainment and arts.
You will find our rates for full-day or half-day float trips to be fair and competitive, with quality equipment and expert instruction. When we want the rewards of fishing to more challenging fish, we travel toward Tennessee and the tri-cities area of Johnson City, Elizabethton and Kingsport where we fish the TVA controlled tail-water streams of the South Holston River or the Watauga River. The releases of water below TVA dams on these rivers provides for constant year-round stream temperatures, predictable hatches for us to match, and excellent opportunities for float-fishing that rival the legendary fly fishing rivers of Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho and the Rocky Mountains.
The Blackbird’s goal is to delight guests with cooking grounded in the traditions and ingredients of the Carolinas creating an affordable and vibrant menu – Modern Southern with a “nod” to tradition.

An innovative, daily changing global menu & cocktails served in a modest cinder-block building.
The Admiral embarked not with a set course, but steered more in a general direction. In 2007, we aspired to create an unexpected restaurant that thrived on its talent and creativity.
With the procurement of a modest cinderblock building on the wage earning side of town we succeeded in our goal – to serve an inventive cuisine without having to hold on to convention, all in an atmosphere that lacks the restraints of standard technique.
We hope you find our décor timeless, our service gentle, and our cuisine inventive and delicious.

I’m a classically trained pastry chef, and I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for (cough cough) a looong time. That’s where I learned to be so witty. 😉 In 2014 I started making cute little custom cakes for friends and family. Just for fun, because I missed making art, because friends don’t let friends eat a dry cake. Then people started requesting them, paying for them, coming up with crazy ideas. I spent the next year or so making four or five celebration cakes a week, holding down a full-time job, and running my entire business from a Facebook page.
