Donald Ross originally designed this historic course in 1926, and it was overhauled in 2001 to keep the same feel and spirit. It has since earned nods from Conde Nast Traveler (Top 20 Southern U.S. Golf Resorts in 2011) and North Carolina Golf Panel (Top 100 Golf Courses in the State). This historic course has consistently been acknowledged as one of the Top Resort Golf Courses in North Carolina by Golfweek Magazine.

Anchored by its championship Donald Ross golf course and newly renovated clubhouse, our historic Blue Ridge Mountain country club is a beacon for active lifestyles in Asheville. Among the first hundred private clubs founded in America, the Country Club of Asheville was established in 1894 as Swannanoa Country Club. After several changes in location and name, the club attracted famed course architect Donald Ross to design the 6,638 yard par 71 professional track in 1928.

Full country club amenities include an Olympic – size swimming pool, brand-new fitness center, indoor and outdoor tennis facilities as well as children and teen rec rooms. Our attentive service is apparent in the fine cuisine our revered culinary team presents daily, not to mention their expertise in orchestrating special events.

Swing into a round of golf on the legendary 18-hole course at The Omni Grove Park Inn. The 6,400-yard championship course has been played by PGA stars Bobby Jones, Ben Hogan and Jack Nicklaus and even President Obama. Feel a sense of pride and accomplishment after navigating the tree-lined fairways and bent greens with amazing views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Elevated tee boxes on the par-70 course provide perfect sight lines for each drive.

Asheville Golf Course is a true gem and one of the oldest courses in Western North Carolina. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this classic layout was designed by famed course architect Donald Ross in 1927 and it accomplishes the difficult double task of being challenging and fun.

The front nine of the par 72, historic course spans 3,246 yards from the back tees. Its scenic design allows for the use of a driver on most holes. Meanwhile, the 3,194 back nine favors accuracy over distance. Although not long by today’s standards, the course proves length does not make a great course.

Since taking over the management of the course, Pope Golf has made great strides in improving the experiences of area golfers and those travelers who have discovered Asheville Golf Course.

Litten is famous for designs that are all unique. His courses do not have the same “signature” qualities, making each course a hand crafted work of art. Broadmoor Golf Links is also designed to be enjoyed in 4 hours, whether you like to ride or walk. With tees measuring from 5600 to over 7000 yards, Broadmoor appeals to every level of golfer.
