Biltmore Estate in Asheville, N.C.
George Vanderbilt’s 250-room castle is America’s Largest Home and a top attraction in Asheville. Plan a visit to Biltmore House, explore 8,000 acres of grounds, or book a behind-the-scenes tour.
Elegance and grandeur abound at Biltmore, America’s largest home. This French Renaissance castle in the heart of Asheville and the Blue Ridge Mountains is an architectural jewel. The home features 250 rooms, including 35 bedrooms, 43 bathrooms and 65 fireplaces.
In addition to the house, the 8,000-acre estate is home to forested trails and beautiful gardens, which include one of the country’s most complete collections of azaleas. Biltmore is also where you’ll find the nation’s most-visited winery. As you explore the estate, enjoy shopping, dining and luxury accommodations.
Biltmore is as magnificent today as it was when it was built more than a century ago. George W. Vanderbilt created the estate in the 1890’s as a grand retreat in the North Carolina mountains. The estate officially opened to his friends and family on Christmas Eve 1895. Mr. Vanderbilt brought in Frederick Law Olmsted, the father of American landscape architecture, to design the gardens and trails. Biltmore was the last great project for Olmsted, whose work also includes New York’s Central Park and the grounds of the U.S. Capitol. The Estate is still privately owned and operated by George Vanderbilt’s descendants
When the sun sets on Biltmore Village and the local shop owners return to their homes, the Corner Kitchen keeps cooking. Enjoy the warmth of our illuminated interior with comfortable cuisine. Order a unique cocktail and gaze upon the mountain sky from the comfort of our pristine patio. Find out what locals have known for nearly 16 years — dinner doesn’t only happen downtown in Asheville.
The Blackbird’s goal is to delight guests with cooking grounded in the traditions and ingredients of the Carolinas creating an affordable and vibrant menu – Modern Southern with a “nod” to tradition.
Altamont Anglers fly fishing guides have been guiding and teaching anglers since 1986. Our knowledge of the waters around our home of Asheville, NC lets us customize fly fishing trips to your special needs & desires. Asheville fly fishing offers the daytime experience of pristine trout streams set in beautiful Smoky Mountain settings and the evening experience of a vibrant downtown that offers fine dining, entertainment and arts.

Orvis fly fishing gear is standard for all our trips, to match the quality of service provided by our guides. Our guides are CPR certified, and we are fully insured.
When we want the rewards of fishing to more challenging fish, we travel toward Tennessee and the tri-cities area of Johnson City, Elizabethton and Kingsport where we fish the TVA controlled tail-water streams of the South Holston River or the Watauga River. The releases of water below TVA dams on these rivers provides for constant year-round stream temperatures, predictable hatches for us to match, and excellent opportunities for float-fishing that rival the legendary fly fishing rivers of Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho and the Rocky Mountains.

We love West Asheville! From the very moment we moved here we’ve realized that West Asheville is a special place, full of charm, history, and energy.
West Asheville is an area that moves easily between its old-world history and new-world energy, enjoying the charm of its neighborhoods and the spirit of its quaint main street. It’s both down-to-earth and cutting-edge, with 1920’s bungalows and eco-built new homes, with old brick buildings that house innovative businesses, with an appreciation for its stories and excitement for its future.
West Asheville’s advantages are many and diverse; it’s small enough that people know each other yet large enough to support many local independent businesses. Its proximity to downtown, affordable housing, and walkable streets are only part of what makes it popular.
At West Asheville Real Estate we know West Asheville better than anyone else in real estate because we have invested our time and energy in exploring and discovering everything we can about this unique area. So – come join us! You’ll love it as much as we do.

Navitat is the premier provider of tree-based zipline experiences – featured on CNN, in the New York Times, Outdoor Magazine, Forbes Travel Guide and called “One of the best in the nation!” in USA TODAY! With two incredible zipline tours to choose from, a day at Navitat is guaranteed to be full of high-flying fun! Navitat’s original tour, the The Treetop Tour has six ziplines, two bridges, a rappel, and a spiral staircase. The Mountaintop Tour is a massive high flying zipline tour featuring three (huge!) side-by-side “racing style” ziplines, the longest of which stretches more than 3600-feet and is 350-feet above the forest floor. Be adventurous – and snag big savings! – when you book The Ultimate Adventure Package to experience BOTH tours in one action-packed, tree-lovin’ day. Located only 20 minutes north of Asheville, Navitat’s home, Moody Cove, is a 242-acre wilderness setting containing some of the largest trees in the area, abundant wildlife, rare plant species, and offering spectacular long-range mountain views. On each tour, knowledgeable guides teach you about the natural environment and tell colorful local history stories. Navitat Canopy Adventures welcomes adventure seekers weighing between 70 and 250 pounds. This is the flagship location of Bonsai Design Inc., America’s leading zipline canopy tour designer. Built with environmental respect for minimal impact, don’t miss your chance to experience Navitat – tree-based adventures that thrill, educate, and inspire!
